Trek To The Land Of Gods
Perched in the Sankri range of Uttarakhand, Dev Kyara is a stunning high-altitude meadow parallel to the picturesque Har ki Dun Valley. The Dev Kyara Trek is an easy and accessible journey that takes adventurers to this breathtaking 4 km wide meadow, nestled at an altitude of 4100m between the Rupin and Supin Valleys. This trek offers a rare opportunity to discover the unspoiled beauty of the Western Garhwal Himalayas, with its awe-inspiring vistas of towering peaks like Ranglana, Daowdu, Black Peak, Bandarpoonch, Kedar Dome, and Swargarohini. Along the way, trekkers can explore the untouched Obra Gad Valley and Dev Kyara Bugyal and experience the rich cultural heritage of traditional Himalayan villages.
The trail winds alongside the roaring Dibra Gad River, a tributary of the Supin River, through dense pine and oak forests, eventually opening up to breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, dotted with vibrant flowers, wild mushrooms, and wild strawberries. Camping at the foot of the majestic Rangnala Peak, surrounded by stunning views of Daowdu and other unnamed peaks, is a true treat. Considered a hidden gem, this trek is an ideal alternative to the more popular Har ki Dun and should be on every adventurer’s bucket list. The best time to embark on this trek is during the pre-monsoon months of May-June or post-monsoon months of September-November, avoiding the monsoon season of July-August.
