• History of Landour – It was founded in the year 1827, Landour was originally an British Sanatorium for soldiers suffering from malaria and other tropical illnesses. The name is derived from Llanddowror Llanddowror, which is an village located in Wales.
• British Military Cemetery – The most beautiful and haunting historical relic from the past in which families of soldiers were put to rest. The epitaphs recount battles from the time of colonialism.
• Sisters’Bazaar – A delightful market that is named after European nurse ( Sisters) who took care of those who were sick. It’s now a nostalgic market for homemade cheeses, jams, and woollens.

We have divided the Lal Tibba Trek itinerary into 2 Parts,

Start Location – Landour Clock Tower (5.7 km from Mussoorie, 38 km from Dehradun).

Part 1: Landour Clock Tower – Char Dukan (1.25 km | 45-60 mins)

• Route: Clock Tower – Ruskin Bond’s House – Kellogg Memorial Church – Char Dukan.
• Highlights:Ruskin Bond’s House Find the old Deodar tree, which dates back to a century ago, close to the author’s residence.Historic Charm Cobblestone pathways, English-era cottages, and St. Paul’s Church.Char Dukan: Four iconic establishments have served momos, chai, pancakes, and more since the 1920s.

Part 2: Lal Tibba Summit via Char Dukan (900 meters & time taken – 25 to 30 mins)

There are two Route Options:

• Left Route – Deodar forests offer birdwatchers a haven where Verditer Flycatchers and Himalayan Griffons may be found.
• Right Route – Enjoy direct ascent and breathtaking mountain vistas along this direct path.

Stops:

• Viktor Banerjee’s House is a white-fenced colonial house with freshwater clay pots that trekkers can use.
• Lal Tibba Binocular House – The entry cost is Rs50. The telescope was used in 1967 to view Kedarnath, Nanda Devi, and Bandarpunch peaks.

Optional Return Route Lal Tibba – British Cemetery – Kellogg Church (1.5 km | 45 minutes)
