The First Route starting from Dehradun up to Mussoorie, Brimming with Natural Beauty
Kipling Trail was once the main route linking Dehradun with Mussoorie. It has since been changed into a thrilling trekking trail and is a tranquil escape from the bustling modern-day highway. The 9km trek, beginning at Shahanshahi Ashram, winds through picturesque locales like Jharipani and Barlowgunj before reaching the beautiful hills in Mussoorie.
In honour of well-known author Rudyard Kipling who was a frequent visitor to this trail in the 1880s and then immortalized it in his book Kim–this route is also mentioned in the works from Ruskin Bond. This trail is a mix of beauty in nature and historic significance.
